We are both very proud to have built a business within South Tyneside and have joined South Tyneside Council’s Pledge to commit in taking small steps to improve South Tyneside.
Our business has grown substantially in the last eight years and despite many challenges we have never faltered in our commitment to make the Clifton the best it can be . We have sustained a programme of investment to develop The Clifton to be a respected and responsible business. We love South Shields and are proud to be residents of this borough.
As part of our commitment to the pledge we have invested into the following:
We have always supported the development of our team, supported work experience candidates from schools, colleges and back to work programmes, as well as recruiting locally. We operate a Equal Opportunities policy to ensure that employment is open to all without prejudice in any form.
Since opening the Clifton we have grown from 2 employees to 12 employees. As business demands permit and the economy grows again in the future, we aim to employ more local staff. We aim to provide sustainable employment for individuals and despite the challenges of the hospitality industry and the economy, we create an inclusive environment for our team….. they are really all an extension of our family!
Our Customers regularly tell us how wonderful the Clifton is and the impact that it has had on Ocean Road. It is great that people recognise the effort and commitment that we have made to create the business. Without them of course we could not have achieved this. We are proud to be part of the community and we hope that people are proud of The Clifton in South Shields.
We will continue with this pledge to move forward with our business and continually look at how we can develop to meet all of the key target areas.
We would like to take this opportunity to once again thank all of our staff and customers for supporting the Clifton over the last eight years and we look forward to hopefully many years ahead.
